Check out a book from the Guild’s fabulous library! Great news! Thanks to an assist from Mary Lovett, the Ravelry site now has all the latest library acquisitions, almost 200 additional books! Donna Mulcahy, our librarian, has also updated the Ravelry profile instructions to make them more clear! Read about our library and how to search the Guild’s books here. Coming soon – a complete list of books in pdf format will be posted on the Guild website in the near future.

Upcoming Event: The first ever SoCal Fiber Fair in Pomona, CA at the Los Angeles County Fair Grounds, to be held November 18 and 19. This new event was organized by Nancy Bates (of Knitting the National Parks fame) and her daughters. Event details, including vendors, workshops, and a competition can be found at SoCalFiberFair.com

A Note about Online Payment of Dues: We have temporarily suspended online processing of membership dues, the result of a new monthly fee imposed by our bank. We are looking into alternative methods for payment.

The next in-person meeting will be in September, but you can also send in your photos and descriptions for virtual Show and Share! Mingei International Museum is open, and has a new cafe! The Mingei is a wonderful museum of arts and crafts, located in Balboa Park. Check it out Mingei.org/whats-on.
Visions Museum of Textile Art – Visions is a great textile museum in Liberty Station. While its focus in the past has been largely on art quilts, this past year the museum expanded its “vision” to include all fiber arts. In recognition of its expanded scope, Visions has renamed itself Visions Museum of Textile Art and now has a new website VMOTA.org Check it out!
