Urgent! Checks to the Guild. Due to recent changes at our bank, all checks to the Guild must now be written out in full to “San Diego North Coast Knitters Guild”. No more abbreviations – read the announcement here.
Spam Activity Spoofing Guild Officers Email Addresses. Recently several Guild officers experienced receiving email purporting to be from Guild officers. Read an important announcement here.
Volunteers are needed! Yes, we still need some volunteers! Currently we are seeking an assistant to help in scheduling meeting and workshop rooms! Retreat News The Guild sponsors a Summer Retreat at the the Viña Lestonnac Retreat Center in the middle of the Temecula wine valley. The upcoming Retreat will be August 14-17. Registration begins June 1 by mail, or you can register at the June 6th Stash Sale and pay with a credit card – details can be found here.

Membership and Directory News – Membership in the Guild runs from February 1 through January 31st. Directories and new name badges were distributed at the April 4th Guild meeting. The latest news with a list of our new and renewal members who are not in the 2023 Directory can be found here. While you can still renew, you will not be in the 2023 directory. Renewal information can be found here.
The latest Show and Share can be found here. Show and Share is a hybrid! Bring your project to share at the next in-person Guild meeting or share your project photos via email or text. Instructions for submitting can always be found at the bottom of Show and Share pages. Links to older galleries going back three+ years can be found here.
San Diego County Fair – The deadline for entering your projects in the needlework completion has passed, but plan on visiting the County Fair between June 7th – July 4th and check out the Exhibition Hall to see what people have submitted. No, we will not have a booth this year, but thanks to Renate, Guild members who volunteered will participate in a knitting demonstration on Saturday, June 10th from 12-3 pm and 4-7 pm. Sign-ups for volunteering is closed, but you can stop by and say hi! The fair website can be found here.

Mingei International Museum is open, and has a new cafe! The Mingei is a wonderful museum of arts and crafts, located in Balboa Park. Check it out Mingei.org/whats-on.
Visions Museum of Textile Art – Visions is a great textile museum in Liberty Station. While its focus in the past has been largely on art quilts, this past year the museum expanded its “vision” to include all fiber arts. In recognition of its expanded scope, Visions has renamed itself Visions Museum of Textile Art and now has a new website VMOTA.org Check it out!
