About Nancy Bates
Author of Knitting the National Parks and Knitting California, Nancy is passionate about combining the art of knitting with her love of nature, the seasons, and the world around us. Using hats as her canvas and yarn as her medium, the colors and textures of Nancy’s designs create wearable art that reminds us of the places we love. She has shared her love of hats, nature, and designs through classes, presentations, and workshops around the country…stopping at national parks and beautiful places along the way!
“But I don’t make hats!” we hear you say. Read Tania Marshall’s post on why everyone should consider signing up for one of Nancy’s workshops.
In 2923, Nancy and her daughters (Natalie, Caitlain, and Alyson) combined their fiber arts knowledge with experience in event management to create the SoCal Fiber Fair. Last year’s inaugural event was very well received and you can attend this year on November 23-24. The admission price includes this fair-themed hat pattern! For more information, see SoCalFiberFair.com.
