For Your Consideration…

April 4, 2020

The Economic Impact of Current Events on Our Knitting and Crafting Community.

Please keep the following in mind when you shop online:  Under the current local, county, and state mandates, our local yarn shops are closed to walk-in shopping, but many have pickup and delivery options. Check your LYS websites for details, and give them your support when possible! We want them to survive! Don’t need anything at the moment? Consider purchasing a gift certificate for use later when things get better.

Indie dyers are also in need of our support and are in danger of disappearing. Buying indie yarns from our LYS will help support our favorite dyers.

With the cancellation of knitting, crafting, and fiber events around the country, many designers are hurting. For many, workshops at these events are important part of their income. We can help them out by purchasing their patterns from Ravelry or their individual websites. Many are now offering discount coupons in their newsletters, on Ravelry, and on their websites. Check your favorites on Ravelry and consider buying some patterns now. A number of knitters are in the habit of sharing patterns with knitting buddies, but by doing so, you are depriving a designer of income. Please think before you share.

Be mindful of how you can help our knitting community during this crisis. And enjoy the opportunity to shop with a good conscience!

Check hear for a list of San Diego County local yarn shops.
