Brioche 102: Splish Splash – 2-color Brioche with Decreases
This class is perfect for those wanting to learn more and to expand their Brioche knitting vocabulary, as well as for the newer but adventurous Brioche knitter. Join Simone and learn the skills needed to knit the Splish Splash shawlette. During the class you will be taught the basics of the brioche knit and purl stitches worked flat, how to work basic decreases in brioche knitting – we will learn directional brioche decreases! You will also go over how to read a brioche pattern, how to count rows and stitches, and how to transition to brioche knitting from a regular knit pattern. All this will be done while Simone guides you through a miniature version of Splish Splash, her new brioche bordered shawl.
Level of Experience: Great class for newer brioche knitters.
Skills Needed: Participants should know how to knit, purl, cast on and bind off, and read from a pattern. Previous experience with Brioche is not required, but is helpful.
Materials to Bring to Class: 2 balls of smooth yarn in solid, contrasting colors, sport weight or worsted weight. Appropriately sized needles for your weight of yarn. General knitting notions (such as darning needle and scissors, etc.
Cost: $30 for members ($55 for non-members which includes Guild membership through 2019)
