Meeting held on Zoom
97 Attendees
At 12:32 PM Co-President Renate Kamm called the meeting to order. She announced that members wishing to donate to the Stash Sale and/or Charity should contact the respective Chairpersons to arrange transfer of materials.
Program Co-Chair Theresa Kotanchek introduced our guest speaker Faina Goberstein who presented an inspiring program of knitted garments employing tuck stitches. Who knew there were so many design opportunities using this simple stitch variation!
After Faina’s presentation, Theresa announced there are a few openings for Arne and Carlos’ workshops in April. The general meeting is sold out. Those that want to be put on the wait list should send an email to Programs AT SanDiegoKnitters DOT com. Our May meeting will be Suzanne Nielsen’s Knitting Tips and Tricks from an Engineer.
Sydnie Wauson, retiring Holiday Luncheon Co-Ordinator urged members to strongly consider becoming involved with planning next year’s event. Not only is our luncheon a lot of fun, but it is a source of income for our Programs.
Mar Gee Farr, Membership Directory Co-Ordinator announced that our new directories will soon be arriving in our mailboxes. We have 275 registered members!
Co-President Tania Marshall discussed reinstating Members Teaching Members, which went by the wayside during the Covid lockdown. A Zoom poll was taken and 80% of attendees were interested in taking a workshop while 13% of attendees were interested in teaching a workshop.
Renate Kamm urged members to sign up to join our table at the County Fair this summer. It is a good way to attract new knitters and new guild members. We will also give out awards to talented adults and youth.
Tania Marshall announced that the Panera Carmel Mountain sub-group has been cancelled due to lack of attendance.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:52 PM .
