Get Involved in Your Guild

October 31, 2019

Guild positions are available

1. New Librarians Are Needed

Two openings are available for the positions of Librarian. While one person could handle the job, it’s helpful to have a back-up for those times one of you cannot be present at the meetings. It’s also useful to have two people to discuss what books should be added to the collection on the basis of upcoming presenters and the interests of the general group. One of you should have a computer, and basic understanding of Excel and Word to add books to the collection inventory, and occasionally have access to a printer. Knowledge of Ravelry to update the Guild’s library collection is required.

Duties and Requirements
– Place to house the library cart and books. Perk – you have access to our complete library at all times. It’s quite a luxury!
– Bring books to meetings that members have requested through the Guild email that they would like to borrow.
– Track returned books and take home. Send out reminders as needed.
– Advise Guild members of new additions to the library and what speaker books are available for borrowing.
– Access to a computer with compatible software for managing the collection.

Take to Monthly Guild Meetings
– Books members have requested to borrow.
– Clip board sheet for signing out and returning books
– Basket to leave on back table

If you are interested in this position or have questions please contact Tina Rounsavell at President@SanDiegoKnitters.com.

2. New Magazine Manager Needed – This position is FILLED!

Duties
–  Bring supply of donated magazines and patterns to meetings to spread out in designated area on back table with sign.
– At the end of the meeting gather up what’s left and keep them for the next meeting.
– Periodically donate or recycle old items which have not been taken.

If you are  interested in this position or have questions please contact Tina Rounsavell at President@SanDiegoKnitters.com.

3. Stash Sale Book Coordinator

A new person is needed to sort and store donated books for the Annual Stash Sale.

Duties
– Collect and store all donated books.
– Share photos of books collected with the librarians and the person in charge of collecting Items for the Opportunity Drawing before adding to the Stash Sale.
– Price donations and bring to the stash sale.
– Consult with the Stash Sale Manager so they know how much space you will need on the day of the sale.

If you are interested in this position or have questions please contact Tina Rounsavell at President@SanDiegoKnitters.com.
