2023 Stash Sale Roundup!
We raised $5379.10 at the Stash Sale on June 6th!
Shoppers in Action:
A big thanks to those of you who contributed yarn, knitted items, needles, and lots of accessories. You were all so gracious in cleaning out your personal yarn and other items and bringing it to the meetings and other locations from January to May. Thank you so much!
A special thanks to Barbara Wright, last year’s Stash Sale Coordinator, who offered her experience and skill without being asked. In addition, Maria Gualda was at every event always smiling, helping, sharing her wisdom, and pitching in. Thanks to you both!
A big thanks to the two groups of volunteers who worked on May 10th, 17th, and 30th to sort, bag, and price lots and lots of yarn and other items. These volunteers included the following: Maria Gualda, Barbara Wright, Nancy Lerer, Beth Wood, Martha Parks, Diana Weyman, Tracy Bell, Jennie Chin, Mary Woo, Becky Johnson, Theresa Kotanchek, Kristi Porter, Chris Ward, and Susan Johansen.
Drivers who volunteered to load their cars/vans prior to the sale and showed up at the Encinitas Community Center at 10:00 a.m. on the day of the sale were such a huge help. They were: Laura Brubaker, Diana Rathbun, Nancy Lerer, and Patti Fadler.
Our very hardworking volunteers dressed in blue aprons tallied your purchases. They were great! Laura Brubaker, Maria Gualda, Sue Tavaglione, Vicki Buckley, Michelle Bolden, Nancy Lerer, Martha Parks, and Diana Rathbun.

Working the registers were three talented Guild members: Carol Myers, our Treasurer, Sue Zois, and Mary Woo.
And at the very end we had members collect yarn for their charities. The following organizations received yarn and books:
Oceanside Library Knitters- Rilla Livingston
Norman Park Senior Center in Chula Vista – Tania Marshall
Norway Hall – Cary Sullivan
Vistas Hospice – Sue Zois
Senior Center Riverside – Janet Goetske
Oceana Senior Knitters
SDNCKG Philanthropy – Colleen Lukoff
Various other charities- Sheila Kirschenbaum

The BEST Part: Over 25 volunteers spent a total of over 30 hours working together to make this a very successful event. It is such a great way to meet Guild members and raise money at the same time. Many friendships made. Lots of skills shared. Laughter and fun. Come and volunteer next year. We can always use more help!
The next-BEST Part: All the yarn, accessories, books, and knitted items were gone. The room was empty! Hurrah!
