Philanthropy News for September

Philanthropy News

Sweaters

Here we are again, at a distance. I truly hope you are all well and looking forward to 2021.

Before we get to year-end, however, we will come to the holidays and I would like to make our final Guild charity donations no later than the end of November or first of December. I would therefore like to make arrangements to have you drop off or have someone pick up your knitted items sometime in October or November. Please carefully read next month’s newsletter and check the website for the dates and places for drop-offs in October, and remember, I will be happy to make customized arrangements to pick up your donations, in person, masked and socially distanced.

Finally, we may have a new philanthropy chair in 2021, and she may have some other ideas for philanthropy projects. Therefore, believe it or not, I suggest that you may want to stop making squares for Project Linus and consider other projects, such as baby blankets, sweaters, scarves and hats in the meantime. I will gladly take any squares you have already completed.

I hope to see you in person soon, although the first Zoom guild meeting was a wonderful substitute for in-person meetings. Thank you to the Board.

Stay safe,

— Ginny Newton . Philanthropy Chair, Philanthropy@sandiegoknitters.com
