Minutes of the General Meeting

Temple Solel
President Tina Rounsavell called the meeting to order at 12:31 pm. She welcomed guests and new members and asked that people silence their cell phones. Tina introduced Programs Co-Chair Laura Brubaker
Programs Co-Chair Laura Brubaker introduced speaker Anne Berk who spoke about “Annetarsia Knits.” Anne, who is an optometrist, explained how she became interested in knitting and in the knitting technique of intarsia. Anne developed a technique for knitting intarsia in the round and displayed several of her designs.
After the presentation, President Rounsavell conducted the business meeting.
Retreats: President Rounsavell announced that there are only 2 rooms left for the January, 2020, retreat. She also announced that members may bring stash sale donations to the general meeting in February, 2020; because of logistics, no donations will be accepted prior to the February meeting.
Philanthropy: Chair Ginny Newton thanked everyone who came to the philanthropy knitting events over the summer. She announced that the next “Share a Knit” event will be on Wednesday, October 23, at Panera in San Marcos.
Programs: Co-Chair Sue Zois reminded members that there will be no meeting in October because of Temple Solel services and programs. She announced that the next meeting is November 5 with Simone Kereit who will talk about “Can I Use That? Yarn and Fiber Substitution;” Simone will offer four workshops. Sue noted that are still a few spaces left for Anne Berk’s workshops.
Carol Myers was Master-of-Ceremony for Show & Share; Stacy Mann was the photographer.
President Rounsavell adjourned the meeting at 1:51 pm.
