Ravelry Tip of the Month

January 6, 2020

Ravelry Tip of the Month is a new feature of our newsletter.

Shared Projects

Please share your Ravelry project pages with the Guild! Whether you prefer to share at cast-on or bind-off, sharing allows other Guild members to enjoy your work (even if you can’t, or prefer not, to participate in our monthly meeting Show and Share).

Example of a Ravelry Project Page.

It’s easy to share a project. On your project page, the first red box on the right side of the page says “Groups.” Inside that box is a drop-down menu labeled “Share with a group. . .” The drop-down lists all the groups to which you belong – you may share your project with as many groups as you wish.

Sharing a project with a group.

Once you share with a group, it’s shown below the menu (with an “x” for deletion if you made a mistake or change your mind).

Want to see all the projects that Guild members have shared? Go to our Forum – every screen has a menu across the top that starts with “Overview,” “Discussion,” and so on. Toward the right end of that menu is “Projects,” which takes you to a full page of project information.

Or, check out the first red box on the right of the Overview page. There you’ll find “Recently shared projects” with thumbnail photos and a link to “view all projects.”

Thanks to Vivian Forseth (rubystitches on Ravelry) for inspiring this month’s tip.
