Philanthropy Update for September

June 27, 2019

PHILANTHROPY Announcements For September!

Ginny, Philanthropy

Please don’t forget the final official philanthropy meet-up on Wednesday, October 23, from 9:30 – 11:30 at Panera in San Marcos at 575 Grand Avenue, San Marcos, details at the bottom of this page. Since there will be no meeting in October for me to announce this gathering, please email me now at philanthropy@sandiegoknitters.com if you think you may be interested, and I will be happy to send you an email as the date gets closer.

In the News: In August we made several huge deliveries, to the Veterans’ Hospice, to Project Linus, Bundles for Babies, Emilio Nares Foundation, Encinitas Community Resource Center, and the Oceanside Women’s Resource Center.  All of these deliveries consisted of the lovely items you all knitted or crocheted. Scroll down to see some of these donations. I thank you all on behalf of these agencies.

Bust Buddies. Please note, Eileen is still collecting bust-buddies or softies for mastectomy patients. See this month’s news posting from Eileen for an update and details.

See you at the Guild meeting in September, and don’t forget to scroll to the bottom of this page for details on the upcoming share-a-knit event and a link to the location map.

Here are some of the beautiful items donated and distributed over the past month.

Hats
Sweaters
Afghans
Donated blanket.

Upcoming Philanthropy Knitting Event date and location:
October 23, 9:30-11:30 at our usual spot at Panera in San Marcos – Details.

As usual yarn, patterns and a few pastries will be provided. If you haven’t attended one of these before or knitted for our charities, it is very simple. Just come, be ready to choose some yarn and a pattern, enjoy some Panera baked goods with us, and take your project home to finish (unless you are a super knitter and plan to finish in 2 hours). We would love to have new people join us. No stress and no expectations. Just bring an assortment of your own needles.
