PHILANTHROPY

Blanket And Squares For Project Linus

I am happy to let you know one of our members just made 30 12-inch squares for our Project Linus charity, as well as a beautiful blanket. I picked them up from her home in Fallbrook and delivered more yarn to her so she can continue her good work. I will be happy to do that for you, too, anywhere in San Diego County.

We have had several people ask about what’s happening with the Softies for breast cancer patients. Please be sure to read Eileen Adler’s statement about that. Or, if you want to donate directly to the organization called Knitted Knockers, you should check out their website. They do require you to use their pattern rather than the ones developed by Eileen (Softies or Bust Buddies).

Finally, I dislike sounding like a broken record, but we can always use more squares to be made into children’s blankets for Project Linus. They can be 12” squares made of worsted weight acrylic, or 9” squares made of baby or dk weight acrylic.

I look forward to seeing you all very soon.
