This year brings several important changes based in great part on member feedback:
New date: The Holiday Luncheon serves as the Guild’s December meeting, so we’ve moved (from a Monday) to Tuesday, December 8. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m.; lunch is served at 11:15 a.m.; and the event is targeted to end at 2 p.m.
New venue: La Valle Coastal Club’s price was going up (again) and room availability was questionable owing to their ongoing construction. Fortunately, we have been able to book the Encinitas Community Center (ECC), the same place we meet in other months. While there is ample parking, members are encouraged to carpool (especially if you need a handicapped space).
More room: We’ll have our normal meeting space plus the room dividers will be opened to double the square footage. No more “ells” or columns to block your view, plenty of room for the Fashion Show walk, and an increased seat count (up to 192) at comfortable tables of 8 for easier socializing!
Streamlined program: Several “tweaks” should result in the event moving along without gaps or empty time. For example, Opportunity Drawing gifts will be displayed around the perimeter of the luncheon room (not in a separate area as before). This makes both ticket deposit and gift drawings more efficient. And in place of a plated lunch, we’ll enjoy a catered “box lunch” from the French Oven Bakery. Menu choices are detailed below.
Lower price: Instead of the increased pricing we faced from our prior venue, the 2026 Holiday Luncheon is $45 per person. You may still ask to be seated as a group; “reserved tables” are available but instead of checking in with your table captain, all attendees will check in individually. All seating will be pre-assigned and we will do our best to seat groups of any size together. Registration begins Sept. 8 and closes Nov. 17.
Catered lunch: The French Oven Bakery will provide your pre-selected lunch choice. All meals include a fruit cup; sandwiches include a mixed-greens side salad. You’ll choose from:
- Turkey Avocado BLT Sandwich (greens, sliced tomatoes, turkey, bacon, avocado, garlic aioli)
- Caprese Sandwich (V) (greens, sliced tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, balsamic glaze, olive oil)
- Vegan Salad

Servers will hand out the box lunches and serve ice water, iced tea, and coffee. Each table will have a family-style dessert plate of tarts and cookies.
Fashion Show: Of course, we will have our annual Fashion Show! Entries are limited — so don’t dither, enter soon (registration form linked at top of page) . There will be a small, separate room for Fashion Show staging.
