Over the course of our Zoom meetings we have been to Europe and back with stops in between to learn from knitwear designers and teachers. Now we are returning to our own backyard to find out how one local yarn company got its start.
Sheep Grazing in UruguayLaneras Signature Ply
Nikki and Jay of the Laneras Yarn Company, based here in San Diego County, will relate to us the story of how they started their company, how they sourced their wools from Jay’s home country of Uruguay, and developed their own unique plying technique. They will also take a close look at their various yarn bases made using this plying technique, and will conclude with some thoughts on the importance of being mindful in our making and yarn choices. They will provide Guild members with a discount code for use on their website. Read more about Laneras here.
