Laura Nelkin – Modular Design

Thursday, September 11, 2025 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Overview

As knitters, we are quite used to our stitches flowing in one direction — but what happens if you want them to move in different ways?Nelkin WS4 Modular 03

Laura takes you on a deep dive into modular construction as we look at how to manipulate the geometry of our knitting so that our stitches grow in unexpected ways. We’ll look at a variety of grafting techniques, from the obvious to more obscure, creative cast-on’s and using Lola’s Pick Up Line to avoid picking up stitches. Laura has been playing with modular design over the last fifteen years in her clubs and mystery knit-alongs and has never led your stitches off a cliff. Prepare to have a whole new perspective on your stitches and where they can go!
