Yumiko Alexander will present her talk “The Joy of Knitting with Plant Fibers”

Yumiko Alexander wearing her Whitecaps Pullover

Yumiko Alexander, founder of DanDoh Designs, will share how she became a knitwear designer and evolved from designing with heavy wool yarns to designing with plant fibers yarns. She will talk about the unique characteristics of plant fibers and how knitting with it is different from animal fibers. She will share some tips she has learned over the years and describe how to substitute plant fiber yarn in a pattern originally written for animal fiber yarns.

Read more about Yumiko and and her planned workshops here.

Show and Share – bring your finished items and show them off to your knitting friends! You may download and complete the Show and Share form in advance and drop it off at the table when you enter the conference room. There will also be a brief Guild business meeting.
