Knit unique traveling cable designs and learn texture-rich, modern twists on traditional Bavarian techniques.
In this class we will learn about Bavarian twisted-stitch knitting and the fundamentals of twisted-stitch cables. We will practice working cables without a cable needle and reading the charts.
Irina recommends her Cambre fingerless mittens pattern as an excellent project utilizing this technique. She will gift this pattern to all workshop attendees.
Level of Experience: Advanced Beginner. Students should have basic knitting skills, including cast on, bind off, knit/purl, cables, knitting in the round.
Materials to bring to class: For the class samples, worsted weight yarn. US 7 or US 8 straight or circular needles (16″ or longer). The usual bag of knitting supplies (stitch markers, row counter, scissors, etc.)
Cost: $30 for members ($55 for non-members which includes Guild membership through 2020)
