Anne Berk, who is going to share her personal intarsia technique with us in her talk entitled “Annetarsia Knits: A New Link to Intarsia”. Anne has published a book and several DVDs which explain how to make intarsia knitting painless and fun! If you are like many knitters who are fearful of intarsia knitting because it looks too complex or that it doesn’t work well for knitting in the round, come hear about Anne’s clever and fresh approach to intarsia, which she has aptly named Annetarsia.
As one reviewer of Anne’s book, Cat Bordhi said, “Anne’s elegant technique for intarsia in the round transforms something we knitters have struggles with into a nimble, even joyful, process. Her solution is so beautiful that you will wonder why it hasn’t always been done this way; from now on it will be.”
Anne will be teaching four workshops on September 4 and 5. Three of them will cover intarsia: knitting intarsia flat, garter stitch intarsia, and intarsia in the round. In the fourth class, Anne will teach techniques for perfect edgings with zippers, buttons, and buttonholes.
Anne was certified by TKGA as a Master Knitter in 2003. She has been a knitting instructor since 1998, teaching at Stitches events, Madrona Fiber Arts, and local yarn stores, to name a few. In her “spare time”, she is an optometrist and owner of a practice in Portland, Oregon.
