Overview

This workshop is an introduction to reversible knit-purl patterns and is a mix of lecture and hands-on work. It will touch on the one-row patterns, how to layer the one-row patterns to make more complex patterns, and tips for staying on track and avoiding mistakes.

Level of Experience:

Advanced beginners and beyond. Students must be able to make a 4×4 ribbing swatch that is tidy and does not exhibit laddering

Supplies Needed

  • A basic knitting kit (scissors, crochet hook, removable markers, tape measure, etc.) AND
  • A ball of plain yarn in a solid color and appropriate needles. Typically, for fingering yarn use needle size US#2.5 (3 mm), for sport yarn use needle size US#4 (3.5 mm), for DK yarn use needle size US#6 (4 mm), and for worsted yarn use US#8 (5 mm).
