Suzanne Nielsen – Workshop 1

Wednesday, May 8 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Pooling Workshop

Class Description: In this workshop we will explore the idea of yarn lead pooling. Have you ever loved how the yarn looked in the skein but were disappointed with how it looked when knit? This method will give you more control! Plus, you will learn the skill of knitting in the opposite direction.

Students will receive “The Dance” cowl pattern and the “Synchronized Swimming” scarf pattern. Techniques used in both patterns will be covered.

Meeting Format: Lecture and hands-on learning

Level of Experience:  Students should have basic knowledge of knitting and purling with a desire to learn and push outside their comfort zone!

Materials and Supplies to Bring to Class:

• Size US 7 circular needles in desired length for working a cowl circumference (24” or longer)
• A second pair of size US 7 needles
• Two skeins of yarn 400 yards or more each (one for the cowl and one for the scarf). The yarn should   have color repeats with at least one of the colors having repeats that are about 10” long.  Most variegated hand dyed yarn will work
