Janine Bajus – Workshop 2

Friday, November 10, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Elegant Steeks and Edgings

Steeking

Class Description: Knitting in the round is a very efficient way to create knitted items, especially those with stranded patterns. However, the idea of cutting your knitting to create openings— whether for armholes, necklines or cardigans—can provoke extreme anxiety! The internet offers many different methods— which one is best? In this class we will explore three ways to knit steeks (extra stitches that form a facing when cut open): the traditional “just cut” method; securing with crochet; and needle felted. Then add bands that don’t gap, distort the body stitches, or require lots of math. You will be proud to show off the inside of your garments!
