Olga will present to the Guild on “Origins of Inspiration and Transformative Innovative Knitwear Design.”
Having grown up in Soviet Belarus in the family of a seamstress mother, Olga learned clothing construction and many needlework crafts early on. But throughout years of travel and adventures, both in life and in knitting, she has been able to hone the skill of creating original and unique knitwear designs. She feels that inspiration is all around us, and sometimes the most mundane objects of everyday life can trigger a thought process resulting in a wonderful knitwear design. Olga is always seeking news ways to adapt and improve techniques she’s developed, and she includes these exciting details in her pattern designs so the knitter can learn from them and develop their own skills.
Known for creating unusual engineered 3D knitwear fabrics, she transforms these fabrics into accessory designs with a myriad of possibilities: garments that can be worn in a variety of styles or classic minimal silhouettes filled with attention to detail. These are the staples that help a knitter build a prominent and stylish niche in their wardrobe, while learning to look at the world of knitwear from a different angle!
