November 7, 2023 Guild Meeting Minutes

November 26, 2023

San Diego North Coast Knitters Guild
Minutes of the General Meeting
Tuesday, November 7, 2023
Encinitas Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive, Encinitas, CA
93 Attendees

At 12:33 PM Co-President Renate Kamm called the meeting to order. She reminded members to check the tables in the back of the room: Library, Class Sign-Ups, Holiday Luncheon and Fashion Show, Philanthropy, and January Retreat. She introduced our guest speaker Janine Bajus.

Janine’s presentation was personal, humorous, and sometimes profound as she described her journey to become a master of Fair Isle Design and Colorwork.

After Janine’s presentation, Program Co-Chair Willa Cather drummed up enthusiasm for our next meeting entitled January Selfish Knitters’ Month (or Winter Stash Sale.)  Stash Sale Co-Ordinator Jeanie Milliken announced we were bequeathed a large donation of superb yarns which are overwhelming her single car garage.

Mary Lovett, Retreat Co-Ordinator, urged members to sign up quickly as there are only 5 places left for the Winter Retreat in January.

Colleen Lukoff, Philanthropy Chair, was pleased to announce that 300 items have been donated to charity and we have 150 more articles to be delivered.  She thanked all guild members who participated.

Tania Marshall, Co-President, urged members to sign up by January 31, 2024 so that the membership booklet can be printed and released in a timely manner.

Treasurer Carol Myers hosted the Show and Share.

Renate Kamm adjourned the meeting at 1:50 PM.
