Our September 5th Speaker is Now Pam Powers with Amy Opie!

About Pam Powers: Pam started working as a freelance knitwear designer in 2007. In addition to her many self-published patterns on Ravelry, her designs have appeared in Vogue Knitting and Interweave Knits. She has published two knitting books, Dress-to-Impress Knitted Scarves and Dress-to-Impress Knitted Boot Cuffs & Leg Warmers and has worked as a kit designer for Craftsy. In 2019 after not being able to find a good chunky weight yarn, she started Ikigai Fiber with the launch of the yarn Chibi Paka Chunky. Since then she has added a variety of accessories including luxurious faux fur pom- poms, wool poms and embroidered buttons.
During Covid lockdown, Pam developed a love for embroidery after taking many virtual classes. Wanting to integrate embroidery with handknits, she developed 2 “stick & stitch” embroidery patterns that are patterns printed on water-soluble stabilizer that works perfectly on knitted fabric. Combining a need for tapestry weight wool and her love for color and mini skeins, she launched the Poketto Chibi Pack. Pam continues to source new innovative products to inspire handmakers everywhere.
Pam’s patterns can be found on Ravelry
Her designs can be found on her website at PamPowersKnits.
She is the owner of Ikigai Fiber yarn and handwork supplies company, which can be found here.
About Amy Opie: Amy of A.Opie Designs has been creating colorful knits for almost a decade. Knitting and crocheting on and off since childhood, she published her first indie pattern in 2015.
