The continued success of the Guild depends on its dedicated volunteers.

Without volunteers, the things we love about the Guild simply will not happen. An example of this is we have regretfully decided not to participate in the San Diego County Fair this year for lack of a coordinator.

The lifeblood of the Guild is its monthly programs. The Program volunteers need to be in place by July so they can work with the current volunteers to learn what’s required and to schedule speakers for 2023. As you can imagine, a long lead time is involved in getting a commitment from the presenters, then arranging for travel and accommodations. Note the use of the plural. All positions, including President, can be held by more than one person. Currently, the Stash Sale Coordinator is listed as Barbara Wright, but she is working with her Thursday subgroup to bring you yummy yarn at bargain prices this June.

As a volunteer, you will also benefit from interactions with other members – getting to know them, making new friends, and learning more about our craft. You will be amazed at the difference your contribution makes to the whole group.

Reach out to the nominating committee to talk about what type of skills you’d like to offer or learn more about. Inquire about what a position involves and what could be a ‘good fit’ position for you.

We are appealing to you to not only volunteer for yourself, but to submit names of skilled members to the Nominating Committee so they may personally contact members to explore their future service.
