November 3 – Karin Skacel’s Virtual Visit to the Guild

September 27, 2020

entrepreneur extraordinaire, Karin Skacel!

Karin Skacel

Karin Skacel found herself at home in the world of creativity starting at a young age. She crocheted before kindergarten, sewed before middle school, and spent her college years knitting and designing. Coming from an entrepreneurial family paved the way for Karin’s endeavors. She ran a custom knitting design house named K. Skacela Strickerei and a pottery/glass fusing studio named The Artsy Fartsy Studio.

In 2006 she purchased Skacel Collection, Inc. from her mother. After developing her own brand of yarn, the HiKoo line, Karin opened Makers’ Mercantile, a retail haven for textile artists, in 2012. When not performing administrative duties, Karin spends her time knitting, crocheting, sewing and traveling the world at every possible opportunity.
