San Diego County Fair

Guild Awards Announced!

The Guild announced the 2017 winners of awards donated by the Guild in two categories. Winners are selected from all entries to the San Diego County Fair in the Hand Knitting class.  All hand-knitted items are considered, whether or not they have earned a ribbon from the Fair judges. The Guild gives two awards: Best Workmanship and Best Original Design. Recipients win a cash prize and a paid-up one-year Guild membership.

Mary Barranger was awarded a first place ribbon for this pullover.

This year the award for Best Original Design goes to Guild member and current Co-President Mary Brown. The award for Best Workmanship was awarded to two recipients: Cynthia Cook of San Diego and Darlene Collom of Escondido.  Congratulations to all!

These award-winning entries, along with all other hand-knitted entries and Fair winners are on display in the Home and Hobby Exhibit Hall at the San Diego County Fair. See them and other beautiful creations before the Fair closes on July 4.
