Philanthropy – How We Choose Our Charities

March 18, 2019

Blankets and Squares Almost Ready for Most Recent Donation

Some have asked how we choose our charities and why they change throughout the year, so I wanted to answer those questions.

Many of our charities are ongoing – Oceanside Women’s Resource Center, Emilio Nares Foundation, for example. We have donated scarves and hats to them for years and they excitedly welcome them. Some of the charities we previously supported, such as Becky’s House, Rachel’s House, Project Oz and Operation Gratitude, have informed us they no longer need our contributions, as they either have plenty or have another group who helps them out.

Therefore, we find other places that can use your beautiful knitted donations, such as Project Linus, the Encinitas Community Center, South Coast Hospice, Davita Clinics, Bundles 4 Babies, and most recently, a Hospice for Veterans.

Please keep up the good work.  Many people count on and truly appreciate your contributions.
