Minutes of the General Meeting

Theresa Kotanchek, Program Chair, started the meeting promptly at 12:00 p.m. and introduced this month’s industry expert, Aimée Gille from her Paris, France studio.
Aimée gave a visually intensive presentation featuring items by various designers using her line of La Bien Aimée yarns and her own versions of those same patterns. She also answered questions that had been pre-submitted by Guild Members.
After the discussion, Theresa Kotanchek reviewed information about our final formal presentation for 2025 taking place on October 28, 2025 with Olga Buraya-Keflian and the four workshops she will be conducting. This late October general meeting serves as our November meeting due to a scheduling conflict at the Encinitas Community Center.
Theresa also had a graphic about the 2026 schedule. Specific information about all our programs is outlined on the Guild’s website.
President Mary Barranger asked Carol Meyers to provide the latest information about the December 1st Holiday Luncheon and Fashion Show.
- Carol asked that members please RESUBMIT any Fashion Show registration forms; a website glitch made the previous submissions disappear.
- Opportunity Drawing tickets will be available for purchase at the October 28th meeting, so members are urged to bring their cash, checks, and credit cards. In order to speed up the Opportunity Drawing process, ticket holders are requested to put their names on their tickets. This will also allow members who cannot attend the Luncheon to select and enter the drawing for specific gift packages.
- Prior to the luncheon, Sandy Levin (Holiday Luncheon chair) will have photos and descriptions of gift baskets posted on the website to facilitate selections.
- More specifics about the Luncheon procedures will be presented during the October 28th meeting. Please refer questions about this major fundraiser to Sandy Levin or Carol Meyers.
