President Mary Barranger began the meeting at 12:34 p.m. with some general housekeeping notes.
Theresa Kotanchek, Program Chair, introduced Olga Buraya-Kefelian who wowed the audience with her innovative three-dimensional creations. A final question from the audience about her workshops prompted Theresa to use the program committee slides to outline Olga’s classes. Theresa then went on to present the 2026 program plan.
Willa Cather, as part of the program committee, discussed the January 6, 2026 event, our popular Cast-on Party. Two yarn stores, Apricot Yarn & Supply at Liberty Station and Hands-on Knitting Center in Redlands, will have pop-up shops. Karen des Jardins will be demonstrating and selling her 3-D printed I-cord maker. Other tables will offer confidential body measurements, yarn winding, pattern deciphering, reading your knitting, fixing mistakes, and finishing techniques. The entire event will be geared toward socializing, helping each other. and spurring creativity in the new year. Willa asked members to contact her if they could offer their expertise in manning the stations.
Mary Barranger highlighted the Guild business tables representing the library, membership, nametags, workshop sign-ups, and Holiday Luncheon raffle ticket purchases.
Philanthropy chair, Colleen Lukoff, thanked all who donated items, noting a last-minute holiday request for hats and scarves would be met with the latest influx of items. She also reminded those who availed themselves of leftover stash sale yarns to inform her of the items made and which organizations receive those donations. She will be accepting donations at the Holiday Luncheon and asked all members who made donations with their own yarn to let her know before the end of the year.
Sandy Levin, Holiday Luncheon chair, noted the order of events for our December 1st celebration and fundraiser. There are still seats available and guests are allowed. Entries for the Fashion Show should be directed to Debbie Galasso.
Opportunity drawing tickets are different this year to comply with state regulations. Tickets were available at the meeting and will be sold at the event. Tickets cannot be purchased online. All are encouraged to write their names on the tickets. Photos of the gift baskets are available on the Guild website to facilitate selection.
