NOVEMBER 2024 SHOW AND SHARE – OUR TALENTED MEMBERS

There will not be a Show and Share opportunity at the January Cast-On Party. The February meeting is virtual, so for both January and February you may submit photos and project details via email to the Webmaster. As always, instructions for submitting your photos for posting are at the bottom of this page. A complete list and links to all Guild Photo Galleries can be found on the drop-down menu under the Guild Info tab.

PHOTO GALLERY FROM THE NOVEMBER GUILD MEETING

Maria Gualda lives up to her “ThriftyThreader” Ravelry name by making this lovely Audrey jacket from a frogged Banana Republic wool sweater. The CocoAmour Knits design features short rows and I-cord finishes.

She held the wool double with Drops Brushed Alpaca/Silk to get gauge and completed the project in just 18 days.

Louise Shappee and Kim McIntyre each made the Sandiago shawl by Suzanne Nielsen. It features a clever loop for easy styling.

Louise used Zen Yarn Garden Serenity 20 (with cashmere – so soft!) and added beads along one edge.

Kim used a Stash Sale yarn. She and Louise created written pattern instructions for this short-row design. It’s lovely, but Kim did find it tedious.

Nathine Nelson couldn’t resist the Surfliner shawl pattern in a Miss Babs kit of Yummy 2-Ply superwash.

Surfliner was designed by our own Cally Monster.

Nathine Nelson also had time for a Malabrigo KAL of Melanie Berg’s Lehigh Shawl.

Nathine used Malabrigo Rios in two colors.

Theresa Kotancheck used the Cocoknits Method to create this flattering Emma A pullover, modifying the Cocoknits pattern for a longer body and rib bindoff. She used two yarns in a mix of wool, alpaca, and silk.

Theresa Kotanchek knit the Boho Baby Blanket for her future great-niece.

Theresa used two colors of cotton from the designers, Appalachian Baby Design.

Dani Donnachie worked this crocheted “Fall Vest” in assorted colors of Louise Yarn cotton.

It’s a 1-piece, seamless circle design in timeless colors.

Linda Hart’s In Stillness pullover is designed by Alicia Plummer. She knit it in Lion Brand acrylic “Jeans Vaquero.”

In a clever move, Linda worked the patterned yoke upward when she could concentrate, and the stockinette body downward during social knitting.

How to Submit Your Photos: Photos can be submitted via email attachments to the Webmaster. For clarity, image file sizes should be greater than 500 kb. Keep in mind when you take your photos that projects show up best against solid contrasting backgrounds. Include in your email a description of your project, pattern and designer name, yarn used, how you came to knit your project, and any other information you wish viewers to know. Be sure to include your name in your email! Tip — no need to complete a Show and Share form for virtual postings — just put your project information in the body of your email.

* Did you know? If you have the option, take your photos with your phone. Smart phones have much better cameras than iPads or tablets and are as good if not better than many digital cameras! You can email photos directly from your phone, no need to download first — just include your project information in the body of your email.

There is no set deadline for submissions; photos are posted according to the month they are received. Projects received by the 4th Monday of the month will appear in the next month’s News Blast.
