Encinitas Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024
119 Attendees

President Mary Barranger called the meeting to order at 12:32 p.m. and provided housekeeping reminders. Theresa Kotanchek, Programs Chair, then introduced speaker Kristen Vejar, co-owner of A Verb for Keeping Warm in Oakland, CA.

The topic of the presentation was Journeys in Natural Dyeing. Ms. Vejar spoke of her passion for textiles and working in harmony with the environment. She outlined the content of her two books geared to all who want to dye, whether at home or in a more commercial venue.

Following the program, the Programs chair reviewed the remainder of our 2025 programs. A sneak peek of 2026 speakers will be revealed at the July 2025 General Meeting.

Mar Gee Farr, Membership Directory Chair, announced availability of a Membership Directory addendum with information for 45 new and renewing members. To date, the Guild has 260 members.

Jeanie Milliken, Stash Sale Coordinator, described the procedures for a smooth and enjoyable Stash Sale (June 3, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.). This sale is open to the public, so members were urged to spread the word.

Sydnie Wauson, Webmaster, narrated Show and Share.

President Mary Barranger adjourned the meeting at 1:35 p.m., followed by a Trunk Show featuring Verb, Ms. Vejar’s naturally dyed yarns.
