May 2025 Show and Share

August 23, 2024

MAY 2025 SHOW AND SHARE

Our May Show and Share featured more beautiful garments in luscious fibers. Your next chance to show in person is July 8, as there is no Show and Share at the June Stash Sale. Save time and download a Show and Share form in advance. If you can’t attend the July meeting, or have an item you’d like to show off now, you may submit photos and project details via email to the Webmaster. As always, instructions for submitting your photos for posting are at the bottom of this page. A complete list and links to past Guild Photo Galleries can be found on the drop-down menu under the Guild Info tab.

Click on any photo in a gallery to start a slide show and view larger versions of photos.

PHOTO GALLERY FROM THE MAY 2025 GUILD MEETING
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Virginia Wilson worked Joji Locatelli’s Elton cardigan with Malabrigo Silkpaca, adding a Miss Babs cashmere blend to create stripes. She used TECHknitter’s “easy fake tubular bind-off” and finished just before Joji’s virtual visit — only 4 years after casting on!
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Anne Sloop shared her Summerhouse shawl from Dawn Barker, knit after one of Dawn’s workshops.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Anne used Barker Wool Silky Solo and says this is an interesting concept, engaging knit, and a fun finished product.

Sue Tavaglione knit a Shawl-Collared Cardigan by Ann E. Smith using Tahki New Tweed from the Stash Sale. It’s the perfect vehicle for a Nicky Epstein clasp, allowing the collar to be folded back or flipped up.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Sandy Yayanos shared the Tamdou shawl from Melanie Berg, She added tassels to the tails for drape.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Worked in a Cumbria wool/cashmere blend, Sandy found the purl 2tbl challenging so found an alternative stitch.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Sharon Hunt made Joji Locatelli’s Stripey Unicorn pullover with wools from Spincycle (worsted) and Yarn Citizen (fingering). She had enough left to weave a matching scarf.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Sharon brought her friend Lucienne along to model a Christmas present.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
How fortunate to have a friend gift you a Find Your Fade shawl from Andrea Mowry! Sharon worked this beauty from stash.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Rosanne Farnum shows her Let’s Boogie cardigan (ahoney knits by Cam) in a discontinued Drops blend of alpaca, cotton, and wool. She lengthened the body and found the armholes needed adjustment as well.
virtual show and share submissions

There were no submissions for May.

How to Submit Your Photos: Photos can be submitted via email attachments to the Webmaster. For clarity, image file sizes should be greater than 500 kb. Keep in mind when you take your photos that projects show up best against solid contrasting backgrounds. Include in your email a description of your project, pattern and designer name, yarn used, how you came to knit your project, and any other information you wish viewers to know. Be sure to include your name in your email! Tip — no need to complete a Show and Share form for virtual postings — just put your project information in the body of your email.

* Did you know? If you have the option, take your photos with your phone. Smart phones have much better cameras than iPads or tablets and are as good if not better than many digital cameras! You can email photos directly from your phone, no need to download first — just include your project information in the body of your email.

There is no set deadline for submissions; photos are posted according to the month they are received. Projects received by the 4th Monday of the month will appear in the next month’s News Blast.
