January Guild Meeting

November 11, 2017

Tuesday, January 9, is our first meeting of 2018!

Heather Walpole, our first Guest Speaker will give a presentation called, Hues You Can Use: Choose the Right Colors for Your Project. Heather is the owner and creator of Ewe Ewe Yarns, a small independent yarn company based in Oceanside. Along with starting her own yarn line, Heather is an accomplished knitwear designer, author, and knitting personality. Heather created Ewe Ewe Yarns to be about color and happiness in knitting.

Heather’s career began as a graphic designer for news and ad agencies as well as designing for an international retailer. She always dabbled in crafts and did “every handcraft under the sun, drawing, painting, sewing, woodworking and even a little car maintenance!” Her sister taught her how to crochet and knit and inspired her to open a yarn store. Many of us have fond memories of Noble Knits in Oceanside.

Creating Ewe Ewe Yarns was the next logical step in her knitting career. Her yarns reflect her love of
colors and fibers. Recently, Heather made a guest appearance on the new Vickie Howell’s “The Knit
Show” on YouTube (Season 1, Episode 1, Handmade Holiday’). Heather authored and photographed Scarves in the Round and continues to create a wide variety ofknitting patterns. Read more about Heather and her yarns and browse her patterns at Ewe Ewe and on Ravelry.
