January 2023 Philanthropy News

Philanthropy January 2023

Philanthropy = Love for humankind

As you consider projects for this bright New Year, I hope you may think about making at least one item for a charitable purpose. Last year our Guild members donated 393 items through our Philanthropy program.

I know there can be many reasons for crafting for others.

Perhaps you are like our member Donna who, upon recently handing over a large bag of completed items for veterans, said she has met the desires of her family. She still wants to create, and enjoys giving to others. That’s Philanthropy!

Perhaps you want to help, but are not sure what is needed?

Please stay tuned for more information. I am checking with various non-profits for their exact needs and requirements – this includes groups we have donated to in the past, and some new possibilities. If you have a favorite charity you’d like me to contact, please let me know as well. (Contact me at philanthropyATSanDiegoKnittersDOTcom)

Happy New Year!

—Colleen Lukoff, 2023-2024 Philanthropy Coordinator
