January 2021 Virtual Show and Share

January 13, 2021

January 2021 Activities – What’s on Your Needles?

Show and Share is currently a virtual activity. The gallery includes Knit@Nite photos.

To participate, send your photos and descriptions to Kerry Nare – either via email or text message (Kerry’s direct email address and phone number can be found in the Guild Directory.) Image file sizes should be as large as possible for clarity (ideally greater than 500 kb please.) Include a description of your project, pattern and designer name, yarn used, how you came to knit your project, and any other information you wish viewers to know. Items received after January 31st will be included in February’s Virtual Show and Share.

Click on any photo in the Gallery to enlarge or start a slide show, then scroll down to read details regarding the photos. For convenience, new photos will be added at the beginning of the gallery as they arrive, so check back periodically.

After you view this month’s photos, check out the new compendium of Guild Photo Galleries, found on the drop-down menu under the Guild Info tab.

Details regarding project photos:

Photos (2): Beth Carnett – Shrug/Scarf/Wrap
Beth is wearing a convertible shrug/scarf/wrap, knit in Lana Grossa Ecopuno. The pattern is from Trendsetter, #5701-U Ecopuno shrug/scarf/wrap.

Photo (1): Sandy Yayanos Cardigan
“I wasn’t actually looking for a top down knit but the Miranda cardigan by Amy Gunderson in Interweave Knits Spring 2015 was perfect for my stash yarn purchase of Berroco Ultra Alpaca. This has front and back darts, I-cord finishing and NO seams. Don’t recommend this as a summer project as it’s too much fabric on the lap.”

Photos (2): Amy Sheridan – Tiger Socks, Childs Vest
“Here are a couple of photos of recently completed projects, both will be for gifts next Christmas…
Tiger socks. Pattern is Rose City Rollers and the yarn is Uneek Sock in the Tigress colorway (a generous gift from a friend and fellow guild member)
Xmas 2021 Vest. Pattern is Simple Pie Vest – Child, and the yarn is Plymouth Encore Tweed

Photos (3): Colleen Davis – Cropped Toppers (2) and a Vest
“Here’s 3 for this month: The first one is a cropped topper in bill colors where I knit some curvy section using short rows. The middle cropped topper is divided into 4 sections using short rows— gray, coral, bronze, yellow-gold. The third is a vest using “funky mitered squares/rectangles in tailed, grays and beige with black outlines.”

Photo (1): Elizabeth Kemper Vest
Pattern is the Mathews Street Vest from Interweave’s Knit.Wear, Fall/Winter 2016, knitted in Yoth Big Sister.
