In Memoriam – Dorrit Franke

October 26, 2020

Sad News from Eileen Adler.

Dorrit Franke and Eileen Adler

Sad news from Eileen Adler regarding former Guild Member Dorrit Franke. Guild Members recall Dorrit as an amazing knitter and designer.

“I have some sad news to share. Dorrit Franke passed away on October 13, 2020 after a long illness. She did not join the guild after 2017 but some of our members will remember her enthusiasm, her joie de vivre, her knitting acumen, but most of all, her kindness. She and I spent many wonderful times together. This picture was taken in 2015.

“I have been corresponding with Candy Garner and with Dorrit’s beautiful daughter, Anoushka. This is the information I received from Anoushka:

‘Mama’s masked and socially distant outdoor graveside burial will be held on Friday, October 30 at noon. Due to COVID there will be no reception, but I am looking into an online substitute. Details to follow regarding an online reception.

‘All are welcome at the graveside service, as long as masks are worn and 6 ft social distancing is followed between households. Please feel free to invite anyone. Some can also watch from their cars. She had so many friends. I don’t know them all! The cemetery does not have a limit, nor is there a legal mandate.

‘I am better at checking texts than I am at checking voicemail, but I check email too.’ Signed, Anoushka Franke”

Note – please check with Eileen Adler for Anouschka’s contact information and further details. Eileen’s contact information is in the Guild Directory.
