The January 4th meeting was a celebration of the Guild’s 25th Anniversary.

OOPS! We apologize that we neglected to credit the beautiful project bags that were given as door prizes at the 25thAnniversary celebration. They were made and donated by Pam Knight, a friend of the Guild. Thanks to Pam for her beautiful work and generous donation. We know the lucky winners are enjoying them.
Over the course of a beautiful slide show (prepared by Sheila Kirschenbaum and Nancy Lerer), we heard reminiscences from founding president Colleen Davis and founding secretary Phyllis Bates on how the Guild got started and how they kept it going in the early days. It was delightful to hear from them both. The slide show looked at all the former presidents, officers, committee chairs and coordinators who have served through the years, as well as many of the activities the guild sponsors, including but not limited to philanthropy, stash sale, retreats, a lending library, monthly speaker programs, and our annual holiday luncheon and fashion show. There was a curated show and share section, primarily featuring the same garments made by multiple knitters—a real feast for the eyes and imagination. Lots of photos of members were shown, as well as, of course, lots of knitting.
The presentation was punctuated by stops along the way to give away some door prizes, which included Guild memberships, workshops, gift bags from our last luncheon, a book of knitting patterns by Veera Valimaki, and several groupings of yarn, five of which boasted the added treat of project bags made by Pam Knight.
Thanks to all the volunteers and members who have contributed to the Guild over the last 25 years. The program ended with the announcement that a small Token of Appreciation would be mailed to all current Guild members in gratitude for everyone’s support. Now on to the future!
