Co-president Mary Brown began the January 8 meeting by reminding everyone of the new policy for name badges. Members are to take them home and be responsible for bringing them to meetings and workshops. You can pick up your name badge at the February 5 meeting.

The guest speaker was Brandy Velten, an indie dyer from Los Angeles. Brandy described how she first tried yarn dyeing as a break from writing her doctoral thesis (on hummingbird physiology). Her experiments with dye eventually led to her company, Long Dog Yarn. Brandy described her dyeing process and showed photos that have inspired her yarn colors.
