In Case You Missed It – Kyle Kunnecke’s Visit to the Guild

Our February guest, Kyle Kunnecke, gave a very entertaining presentation about his childhood, his family, his designs, his work for Skacel and at Makers Mercantile in Seattle, and answered the burning question for us regarding why his mother had to hide her needlework above the refrigerator. He brought tips, tricks, and treats for us!
If you took either of Kyle’s workshops, you likely learned a new cast-on, a simple tip for joining a new ball of yarn (who knew?), how to “trap your floats” in colorwork, or how to add beads to your knitting. Kyle brought some beautiful samples with him, most of which were in his book, Urban Knit Collection: 18 City-Inspired Knitting Patterns for the Modern Wardrobe, copies of which sold out at the meeting. For the icing on the cake, he brought a fabulous treat for everyone who attended the Tuesday meeting–a new Addi Addi Rocket 2 (Squared)” circular needle.
