Introduction to Knitting and Crocheting with Wire
In this class, students will swatch using different needles and hooks and make a necklace out of their swatches! You’ll learn to swatch with wire and then you’ll make your swatches into a Mess-up Necklace (pattern from Rosemary Hill’s book, Elements of Style: Knit & Crochet Jewelry with Wire, Fiber, Felt & Beads).
Level of Experience: All welcome.
Homework: None
Materials: Bring knitting wire, knitting needles, crochet hooks, and black neoprene cord. Bring a range of needle and hook sizes to try. Note that the knitting wire may score wooden hooks and needles, so please don’t bring your best needles!
Materials fee: $8, payable to instructor at workshop.
Member’s Cost: $30
How to Register: Sign up at the March Guild meeting or send an email to Programs@SanDiegoKnitters.com. Be sure to include your name, the name of the workshop, your email address and a telephone number.
