We all love the look of cabled knits but some of them can be quite complex to execute! In this class you will be presented with FIVE other novel options of creating cables using other than the traditional technique! Students will be presented with a new accessory pattern to make using one of these techniques!

Level of Experience: Intermediate. Student should have basic knitting skills, including knit, purl, cast on, bind off.
Skills Learned: Various cast on methods and their benefits, ways of picking up stitches on purl side and working welts, different methods for achieving 3D look of cables using FIVE methods, how to perform several methods of cable decreases, tips and suggestions on when to use all of these techniques in knitwear.
Materials and Supplies to Bring to Class: 2-3 colors of 200 yds of worsted weight yarn for swatching, US 6 (4 mm) needle, US 7 (4.5 mm) needle, double pointed needles in sizes US 4 (3.5 mm) and 5 (3.75 mm), crochet hook size F (3.75 mm) or G, tapestry needle.
Materials fee: None.
Cost: $30 for members ($55 for non-members which includes Guild membership through 2020)

Be sure to include your name, the name of the workshop, your email address and a telephone number. Payment is requested at time of registration. Your registration is guaranteed upon confirmation of receipt of your payment.
** Location of this workshop: 501 N. El Camino Real, Encinitas, in the community room of the San Diego County Credit Union building (map link is below.) SDCCU is 2.7 miles north of Temple Solel on the north east corner of El Camino Real and Garden View. The community room is on the first floor on the north side of the building. Park in the upper level parking lot and take the ramp across to the building (there is an elevator to the first floor inside) or walk down the stairs from the parking lot and enter the back of the building. Walk down the short hall and the community room will be to the right.
