Guild Member Karen Bochinski will lead a Members Teaching Members workshop on spinning cotton. Learn how to spin cotton and discover why it is easier than you may think.  Karen will teach you how to spin from the seed, gin the cotton, card the cotton into a puni and finally spin the cotton.

You’ll begin your cotton journey on a Charka so you can get the feel of how cotton works into a single ply of yarn. From there, you can try various tools to see if cotton spinning is something you enjoy. Karen has two spinning wheels, three Taklis, one Turkish spindle, a drop spindle and a Charka so you’ll be able to sample various ways of spinning.

MTM cost is $20.   Sign-up at the June meeting or contact Karen directly at karenbochinski@gmail.com.

Karen will provide beverages. Feel free to bring your own lunch.

Supplies:  Karen will provide all the supplies you need to get started on your cotton adventure. All you need is practice, persistence and patience.

Location of MTM:  The MTM will take place at Karen’s home in San Marcos.  Consult your Member Directory or contact Karen for her address.
