Knitting with Beads
An introductory class to bead knitting that explores the most popular methods of incorporating this form of embellishment to your knits. Key techniques demonstrated in this class include adding beads through stockinette, reverse stockinette, garter stitch, slip stitch and using a crochet hook. Adding beads through surface embroidery will also be discussed, as well as dimensional beaded trims. Participants will be shown a variety of beaded fabrics and work through key methods resulting in a knitted sampler.
Level of Experience:
Homework: No homework, but there will be a handout.
Materials and Supplies Needed for Class:
- Fingering/sock weight yarn + corresponding needles
- Size 6/0 beads
- Sewing/tapestry needle that can pass easily through the bead hole
- Small spool of sewing thread
- Crochet hook that can pass easily through the bead hole
Total Class Time: 2 Hours
Materials fee: None.
Cost: $30 for members ($65 for non-members which includes 2023 Guild membership)

Checks should be mailed to Willa Cather (address in your Guild Directory).Your registration is guaranteed upon confirmation of receipt of your payment.
Cancellation policy: Please notify us as early as possible if you need to cancel your workshop registration. Refund of the workshop fee requires a cancellation notification at least 48 hours in advance of the workshop. Fees cannot be refunded for cancellations with less than 48 hours advance notice.
