Lisa Ross – Workshop 4: Knitting on the Bias

Knitting on the Bias
In the fashion world, bias-cut garments tend to be better fitting, more flattering, and graphically dynamic, but they are also more expensive due to fabric waste. In the knitting world, we can easily create accessories on the bias with no waste at all!
This class pairs increases and decreases to create bias knit designs that drape beautifully when worn and produce eye-catching results. Even beginning knitters will see how easy it is to knit up parallelograms and chevrons that can transform a straightforward scarf into a fashionable accessory.
Once you’ve mastered the basics, we’ll play with symmetry and asymmetry, apply unique construction techniques, and incorporate both color and texture to highlight the skills you’ve just learned. Expand your fiber horizons by learning to shift your knitting on the bias!
