Welcome to our captivating tassel-making class, where you’ll unlock the secrets to crafting intricate tassels that will elevate your garments and home decor to new levels of elegance. Whether you’re a novice or an experienced crafter, this class is your gateway to creating stunning tassels that will become the envy of all.

During this hands-on workshop, you’ll delve into the world of tassel-making, exploring different styles and techniques. Learn the anatomy of the PomTassel and its building principles. Discover how to create a yarn-covered wooden bead and master a unique “blocking” technique. Be inspired by a presentation of multiple samples in an array of fibers and colors.

Format: Lecture and hands-on learning

Length of class: 3 hours

Level of experience: Must be able to knit/purl, cast on, and yarn over.

Supplies for Class:
• 
20 grams each of 3 different colors of fingering weight yarn in any fiber
• US#2 (2.75 mm) & US#0 (2.00 mm) 24” or 32” circular needles
• 2 double-pointed needles size US#2 (2.75 mm)
• Large wooden bead
• Greeting card ready for recycling
• 45 Miyuki glass seed beads size 6/0
• Beading and tapestry needles
• Tapestry needle, sharp scissors, ruler, and (optional) small pliers
• 4 stitch markers

Included in this Class:
• Free Ravelry download code for Royal PomTassel pattern 
Tassel template
• Large wooden bead

 Homework:
• Print I Am Dragon Swatch pattern prior to class (or have it available on a mobile device)

Class Size: 30 maximum

Class Fee: $30 for members (paid 2025 Guild membership required at time of registration)

The Square payment device used for in-person payment cannot accept debit cards that require PIN entry. If your debit card does not require a PIN, you may be able to use it (for a small fee) – but we cannot guarantee debit card acceptance for in-person payments.

Reminder: Checks must be made payable to San Diego North Coast Knitters Guild (payee name must be written out in full.) Please write name and date of the workshop on your check.

Cancellation policy: Refund of the workshop fee requires a cancellation notification prior to receipt of the class handout.
