Irina Anikeeva – Workshop 1: Demystifying Textured Knits

Wednesday, May 6 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Anikeeva WS 1

Demystifying Textured Knits

This workshop explores the expressive qualities of textured knitting and its role in garment design. We will discuss how textured stitches interact with different yarns, how they influence the character and structure of the fabric, and how thoughtful placement of texture enhances garment construction and fit.

In this workshop, Irina will highlight several of her favorite textured stitch patterns and share insight into their versatility, visual impact, and practical application in garments. Participants will swatch a selection of these stitches, gaining hands-on familiarity with their structure, rhythm, and behavior.

This class is ideal for knitters who wish to deepen their understanding of textured fabrics and expand their stitch vocabulary with techniques that bring depth, refinement, and individuality to their work.

Format: Lecture and hands-on learning

Length of class: 3 hours

Level of experience: Advanced beginner and above. Participants should be comfortable with knit and purl stitches,
casting on, and working small swatches independently.
