Cecelia Campochiaro visits the Guild April 2 – 4!
Cecelia Campochiaro is a knitter who lives in Silicon Valley. Her beautiful book, Sequence Knitting is her first publication outside the sciences. She grew up in a family of artists and has been knitting since she was twelve. On Ravelry, Cecelia describes herself as being obsessed with figuring out new ways to create knit fabric.
In her lecture and slide show, Cecelia explains her process and how her unique background in science and the arts led to her insights and to the innovation process in general. Cecelia’s presentation is richly illustrated with images from her influences and her photography.
According to the ‘Queen of Brioche’ Nancy Marchant, Cecelia’s book Sequence Knitting “..introduces a very simple knitting concept. One is then lead into a scientific method of researching, analyzing, classifying, and finally producing finished pieces of such exquisite quality that it is hard to believe they came from that original simple concept. Cecelia Campochiaro has produced a knitting book that is sure to become an enduring classic and the endless amount of ideas to come from this book are yet to be realized. I can’t wait for the knitting world to embrace it.
