Guild Member Claudia Carlson is Guest Speaker at August 1 Meeting!
Claudia Carlson will show us fun and rewarding ways to knit with Color Confidence. Claudia’s presentation will show us how easy it is when you know and understand four simple steps.
There are many sources of color theory to research on the internet, in books and classes. But most deal with mixing color pigments like paint or dye and colored light like you see on a computer screen or smart phone. How do we put color theory principles into practice with off-the-shelf yarn, fiber and fabric? Claudia will lead us through color theory, mixing color with pre-dyed yarn, and finding scientific balance. Be prepared to find the freedom to create your next project with perfect color harmony in a truly simple, fun and rewarding way.
Claudia is a longtime guild member. For 13 years she and her husband owned and operated a graphic design business. One of Claudia’s “color challenges” back-in-the-day when full-color printing was separated to the root cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK) components was accurately reproducing digital artwork rendered in red, green and blue (RGB). Today she uses the color knowledge and principles learned at work to guide her knitting, crocheting, spinning and weaving projects. On Ravelry you can learn more about Claudia and see her patterns.
Claudia will lead a workshop on Color Confidence: Practicing the Principles of Color on Wednesday morning.
